final cut

We have encountered some problems trying to upload the video to youtube. We will have to do this on Monday morning. Meanwhile, here is a temporary clip with sound but of a low quality.

  1. A very good music video!

Good use of special effects especially when the light falls into the main protagonist's hand.

One point which could improve it is to include a wider scope of shot variation at the different locations, such as in the snow or at the park.

  2. There are some really good shots but i think some more less shaky shots would make it easier to focus on =)

  3. When walking down the path between the trees, the camera tracks to the right, and the singer is/almost out of frame.

  4. In some of the set-ups the editing is sometimes too slow against the music. You seem to be waiting for something else to happen, for example the scene with the dog on the pier. More shot variation with less set-ups may be needed.

  5. I really like the video, however. i think that there could be a little more shot variation used and less locations. It seems thrown together and sometimes jumbled so if you have more footage used from one location using different types of shots it would improve it. :)

  6. 3:28 - Best shot of the video, the use of overlaying two different shots really works well, and more shots like this throughout the video would help improve it.
Also the inside shots with the black background and overhead lighting work well and look almost professional. Well done :)

  7. Really like the colour of the grass in the shot were your rolling down a hill, the bright colours work well for the song. And the sepia effect also worked as it sets a good contrast. I feel you should stick to these two colours filters as there is too many. But other than that a very good video :)

  8. I didn't fully understand the narrative behind the video, it seemed like the shots of the dog could be a memory.
And a lot of the different shots seemed very random and didn't need to be in the video such as the shots of the the girl throwing a snowball and rolling down a hill.
I liked the performance parts with the black background though and i liked the use of the lens flare tool though this may need be to changed to fit the girls hand actions better.
Lastly the shot with the girl blowing the glitter is very good and in a way is a intertextual reference to another ellie goulding video.
